Modern Work Plan Comparison documents

The Modern Work Plan Comparison documents are available for October 2025, with separate PDFs for the Enterprise, SMB, US Government, and Education sectors. Be cautious with the Education page, however! It shows that the new Microsoft Purview Suite and Microsoft Defender Suite can be added onto Office 365 A1, even though the Product Terms state you need A3 or higher as a qualifying plan. We’ve started documenting these kinds of errors in the “Licensing Guide cautionary notes” section of LicenseVerse, so do keep an eye on that page for these useful insights. Python in Excel Add-on

Microsoft add the Python in Excel Add-on to the September 2024 Product Terms. The Python in Excel feature is currently rolling out to customers with licenses for the Microsoft 365 Apps, enabling users to access the power of Python analytics directly from Excel. Users who need faster calculations with premium compute and access to manual or partial recalculation modes need to purchase the Python in Excel Add-on through EA or CSP.

Microsoft 365 plan comparison documents

There are updated (May 2024) Microsoft 365 plan comparison documents with some small changes such as the addition of the Entra ID Free plan. These useful documents tell you which (of the many) different components are included in which Office 365/Microsoft 365 plan, and there’s a table for SMB customers (https://bit.ly/3y7C5bS), and one for Enterprise customers (https://bit.ly/3K5Oik5), and still more for specialist US customers – one for GCC (https://bit.ly/44HOqQh), one for GCC High (https://bit.ly/4aak8q5) and the final one for DoD (https://bit.ly/3UrMlD7).
