Dynamics 365 Business Central price increases

Microsoft announce that prices for Dynamics 365 Business Central will increase from 1 October, 2025. A Device licence increases from $40 to $45 per device per month, the Essentials licence from $70 to $80, and the Premium licence from $100 to $110. At the same time, the amount of storage accrued with each licence is being increased too.

Microsoft 365 plan comparison documents

There are updated (May 2025) Microsoft 365 plan comparison documents with some small changes getting everything up to date: adding Microsoft 365 Business Premium as an eligible prerequisite for Microsoft 365 E5 Security, for example.

These useful documents tell you which of the (many) different components are included in which Office 365/Microsoft 365 plan, and there’s a table for SMB customers (https://bit.ly/434vH29), one for Enterprise customers (https://bit.ly/3F5GCzh), and one for Education customers (https://bit.ly/4muUpQX), and still more for specialist US customers – one for GCC (https://bit.ly/437WyJe), one for GCC High (https://bit.ly/4kgHD6C) and the final one for DoD (https://bit.ly/3YJxpTY).

Windows Update for Business

Microsoft announce that Windows Update for Business has a new name: Windows Update Client Policies. The name change is intended to indicate that the service is a powerful tool for organisations of all sizes. Copilot Service workspace

Microsoft announce that Customer Service workspace (the successor to the Customer Service Hub: https://bit.ly/3Z9V67h ) has been rebranded to Copilot Service workspace to align with Microsoft’s “AI-first vision”.

Qualified Devices and Qualified Users licensing guidance

There’s an updated (May 2025) Qualified Devices and Qualified Users licensing guidance document from Microsoft. There are just tiny changes from the previous 2020 version, with all the rules and definitions staying the same.

Flexible Virtualization Benefit licensing guidance

There’s an updated (May 2025) Flexible Virtualization Benefit licensing guidance document from Microsoft. There aren’t huge wording changes from the previous (November 2022) version – just some rewording here and there, but all diagrams and the resources section have been removed.

Hotpatching for Windows Server

Microsoft announce that hotpatching for Windows Server 2025 will be generally available as a subscription service on 1 July, 2025, costing $1.50 per CPU core per month. This new way of installing updates that doesn’t require a reboot after installation has been available for the Azure Edition of Windows Server Datacenter, but is now available to servers running outside of Azure, as long as they’re connected to Azure Arc.

Subscription License Suites document

There’s an updated (April 2025) Subscription License Suites document from Microsoft. This useful document shows you which individual licences make up suites like Office 365 E3. There are a couple of changes: the addition of Microsoft 365 Business Premium as an eligible prerequisite for Microsoft 365 E5 Security, and a note about mixed licensing scenarios for Microsoft Defender for Business and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Plan 2.

Dragon Copilot

Microsoft announce that Dragon Copilot is available in the US from May 1, 2025 and will be available in Canada on June 1, 2025, with the exception of the province of Quebec. It’ll then come to the UK, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and Quebec in the months after that. It’s also added to the May 2025 Product Terms (https://bit.ly/3GCH48E) where we see there’s a Dragon Copilot User licence and a Dragon Copilot Flex User licence.

There’s a new licensing guidance document which explains all – the regular licence gives you access to all services as well as ambient and GenAI features, and the Flex licence gives you access to core features with the ambient and GenAI features billed on a consumption basis.

Computer use in Copilot Studio

Microsoft announce “Computer Use” – a capability that will enable Agents to interact with websites and desktop apps by clicking buttons, selecting menus, and typing into fields on the screen. It’s due to come to Copilot Studio soon through an early access research preview program.
