Windows 10 ESUs for consumers

Microsoft have updated the Extended Security Updates (ESU) support date for consumers running Windows 10, extending coverage by an additional year.

Recently updated documentation that previously listed an October 2026 cutoff now confirms that home users with existing ESUs will automatically receive the extra year of protection, extending support to 12 October 2027. If you haven’t enrolled yet, you can still sign up today through one of three options: syncing your PC settings to the cloud, redeeming 1,000 Microsoft Rewards points, or paying $30. For customers in the European Economic Area (EEA), you simply need to be logged into your PC with a Microsoft account to receive ESU coverage at no extra cost. The commercial Windows 10 ESUs are unaffected by this change.
