Microsoft announce that in the coming year Yammer will become Viva Engage and the Yammer brand will retire. The change coming first, in March 2023, is the updating of the Communities app for Outlook and the Yammer mobile apps for iOS and Android to the new Viva Engage app. There are no changes to pricing or capabilities available to existing customers. Yammer Enterprise standalone plan retirement
Microsoft announce that the Yammer Enterprise standalone plan will retire in Volume Licensing programs on 1 January 2017 and in partner channels on 1 July 2017.
The reason? Most people use Yammer as part of a wider Office 365 plan and that’s how it will be available going forward.

Yammer Licensing Update
Yammer licensing update on Office 365 blog. Two main bits of news:
- Yammer Enterprise is now included in ALL Office 365 Enterprise plans (E1, E3 and E4) rather than just those acquired through an EA, and
- External Users invited to Yammer via external network functionality no longer need User SLs.
