Copilot Studio Licensing Guide

There’s a new (November 2025) Copilot Studio Licensing Guide available. Some key changes include Code Interpreter now being generally available, and the renaming of AI Builder capabilities. However, the rather useful section on Computer Use has also been removed, and the guide erroneously states that it’s now generally available.

Dynamics 365 licensing resources

There are updated (November 2025) Dynamics 365 licensing resources now available. The Licensing Guide has a few changes, reflecting the adjustments to Business Central storage and pricing. You can read about these on our blog here: https://bit.ly/4p1TuYp. References to Microsoft 365 Copilot for Service and Sales are gone, as these are now licensed via a Microsoft 365 Copilot User SL. There’s a new Appendix added for Dynamics 365 Agents in Paid Public Preview – moved from the Copilot Studio Licensing Guide. There’s also extra detail added to the Team Members Use Rights table in Appendix D.

Copilot Studio Licensing Guide

There’s an updated (October 2025) Copilot Studio Licensing Guide with a new section for Computer Use – a capability that enables Agents to interact with websites and desktop apps by clicking buttons, selecting menus, and typing into fields on the screen. Customers have two options for running Computer Use: a hosted browser, powered by Windows 365, or using a Windows machine that they own and manage.

Dynamics 365 Licensing Guide

There’s an updated (June 2025) Dynamics 365 Licensing Guide with a few changes of note.

Firstly, there are further refinements to the tables of security roles and a “menu item” – the thing you give access to via a security role – is renamed to a “securable object”.

Secondly, there are some edits to the requirements for licensing external users which aligns with the Product Terms. Note that the tables and footnotes on pages 43 and 44 haven’t really survived the editing of the last three months and now take a bit of effort to work through the errors and make sense of them.

Finally, there’s a new section for “Coplot Studio Offers in Paid Public Preview” which is light on detail but refers you to the new Copilot Studio Licensing Guide which gives a smidgen more information.
