Blacken White Solicitors

Blacken White Solicitors are a small organization who have four meeting rooms with Microsoft Teams Rooms systems installed. They don’t have any Teams Panels. They have a choice of two licenses for their Microsoft Teams Rooms systems: a Microsoft Teams Rooms Basic or a Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro license.

The Microsoft Teams Rooms Basic option might be attractive to Blacken White Solicitors since it’s a free license which they can acquire through the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. Given it’s a free license there are some limitations: they will only be able to acquire 25 licenses, there’s a limited set of features, and there is no central management capability of the Microsoft Teams Rooms systems. If Blacken White Solicitors were to need more licenses, more features, or the central management capability they would need to acquire the Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro license. Fandango Fitness

Fandango Fitness have 3 yoga rooms which can be booked using a Teams Panel on the outside of the room. They don’t have a Microsoft Teams Rooms system in any of the rooms. Microsoft Teams Rooms Basic licenses can’t be used to license Teams Panels, so they’ll need to acquire Teams Shared Space licenses for each of the Teams Panels.

Cerise Estate Management

Cerise Estate Management have 2 meeting rooms with Microsoft Teams Rooms systems but no Teams Panels, and 3 meeting rooms with just Teams Panels outside. They don’t have an IT department to centrally manage their Microsoft Teams Rooms. They can combine the Microsoft Teams Rooms Basic and Teams Shared Space licenses, using 2 free licenses for their meeting rooms with Microsoft Teams Rooms systems, and purchasing 3 Teams Shared Space licenses for the Teams Panels.

The Olive Oil Drum Company

The Olive Oil Drum Company are a larger organization who have 15 meeting rooms, all with a Microsoft Teams Rooms system installed and a Teams Panel outside the door. What do they buy? We know that Fandango Fitness used a Teams Shared Devices license to license their Teams Panels but, in fact, they’re only allowed to do that because they don’t have Microsoft Teams Rooms systems in the same room. The only way that The Olive Oil Drum Company can license the Teams Panels is to buy a Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro license and that, in fact, licenses the Microsoft Teams Rooms system as well. So, they would purchase 15 Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro licenses to cover both the Microsoft Teams Rooms system and Teams Panel for each room.

The Cobalt Bolt Company

And the final combination to look at is The Cobalt Bolt Company who have 30 rooms with Microsoft Teams Rooms systems. They don’t have sophisticated management requirements and the free Microsoft Teams Rooms Basic licenses are of interest to them. They can acquire the maximum of 25 Microsoft Teams Rooms Basic licenses and then they will need to purchase 5 Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro licenses for the remaining 5 rooms.
