Dataverse capacity

Overview

Dataverse is where you securely store and manage data that’s used by the Dynamics 365 and Power Platform products, and by Copilot Studio. When you purchase the first Dynamics 365 Guides license you receive default Dataverse capacity entitlements for the tenant, and then you can purchase further capacity as required. You can find a useful table in the Dynamics 365 Licensing Guide which details these allowances – search for “Default subscription capacity”. Note, we’ve used the Licensing Guide from November 2025 since that’s the last guide that details the licensing of Dynamics 365 Guides.

Default capacity entitlements

A Dynamics 365 Dynamics Guides license includes these default capacity entitlements:

• 10 GB Dataverse Database capacity
• 20 GB Dataverse File capacity
• 2 GB Dataverse Log capacity

Accrued capacity entitlements

Additional Dynamics 365 Guides licenses do not accrue any additional capacity.

Further capacity

Customers requiring further Dataverse capacity can purchase Dataverse Database, File and Log Capacity Add-ons in increments of 1 GB. In July 2024 a Tier 2 SKU was added for Dataverse Database capacity, where customers can buy a minimum of 1,000 units of 1 GB capacity for a more cost-effective unit price.
