TEAMS ROOMS, DEVICES, AND SPACES

This section covers the licensing of Teams rooms, devices, and spaces.

Firstly, Microsoft Teams Rooms – meeting rooms with sophisticated equipment to make a Teams meeting a great experience for in-person and online attendees. Next, Teams devices – special-use devices, usually in a shared space, used by many people. A Teams phone used as a common area phone is a good example of a Teams device. And, finally, Teams spaces – an area with no technology that you might (as a user) want to book or (as an IT admin) get usage analytics on. A bookable desk space is a good example of a Teams space.

There are only two license types that cover the licensing of all of these scenarios: a Microsoft Teams Rooms license which is available as a Basic or Pro license, and a Teams Shared Space license which is available as a standalone license or as a Single Space variant.
