Licensing Dynamics 365 Sales

A Team Members license is assigned to a user who only needs to carry out lightweight tasks in the Sales solution – they don’t have access to advanced features like creating quotes, processing orders/invoices, or configuring products and price lists. Organizations that don’t have complex sales processes and just need essential Sales Force Automation features license users with a Sales Professional license. When a more sophisticated solution is required, users can be licensed with a choice of three further licenses.

A Sales Enterprise license is assigned to users within an organization with more complex sales processes. It’s also available as a device license, with no difference in the features that users have access to. A Sales Premium user license includes all the capabilities in Sales Enterprise and a set of features called Sales Insights which aims to deliver AI-powered insights into the sales data. Finally, there’s a Microsoft Relationship Sales license which is assigned to users who need Sales Enterprise and LinkedIn Sales Navigator Advanced Plus.

The snippet below is the top part of a useful table that you can find in the Dynamics 365 Licensing Guide which helps you to choose the right license for an individual – search for “Sales use rights”:

In terms of minimum purchasing requirements, there are no minimums for the Sales Professional, Sales Enterprise, or Sales Premium licenses, but a minimum of 10 licenses is required for Microsoft Relationship Sales.
