Unlimited virtualization

All of the servers in the server farm below have been licensed for unlimited virtualization* – so every physical core has been assigned a SQL Server 2022 Enterprise Core license with Software Assurance. This means that an unlimited number of virtual machines may* run on every server, and the virtual machines may move around the server farm as required without the need to keep detailed records to ensure compliance. Equally, the Core licenses could have been acquired as Software Subscriptions and assigned to the servers in the same way.
