Required infrastructure products

There are three products that are required pieces of the technology infrastructure for Project Server SE: SQL Server, SharePoint Server and, of course, Windows Server. Therefore, any licensing recommendations you make for Project Server should also include licenses for these products. From a SQL Server perspective, you can choose either Core licenses or Server licenses and CALs. For SharePoint, the Server licenses and both Standard and Enterprise CALs are required since Project Server SE is part of the SharePoint Server SE installation and is enabled by the Enterprise features.

Note that if external users are being licensed, they need to be licensed for these products too, with the Windows Server element likely to be covered by an External Connector license.
