Desktop applications
The Flexible Virtualization Benefit applies to the desktop applications too, and so customers with Office LTSC Standard or Professional Plus 2021/2024 licenses with Software Assurance can run the Office applications from an Authorized Outsourcer’s shared hardware for access from licensed devices.
Equally, if customers are licensed for the Microsoft 365 Apps, then that software can be installed on the Authorized Outsourcer’s servers too. Note that the requirement to use Shared Computer Activation applies when the Microsoft 365 Apps are deployed on shared servers. From a licensing perspective this means that users licensed with either a Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise or Microsoft 365 E3/E5 license can access the Microsoft 365 Apps software. Note that there are NO rights to use SCA with the standalone Microsoft 365 Apps for Business license, but there ARE when the apps are licensed through a Microsoft 365 Business Premium license.
