Canceling Reservations
If a customer’s needs change so much that they no longer need any sort of Reservation, they can cancel them, if required. Credit is calculated for the remaining term and the balance is refunded. Microsoft currently (July 2026) don’t charge early termination fees for refunds, although there may be a 12% fee in the future. Some Reservations, such as SUSE Linux Software Plans, aren’t eligible for refunds.
Refunds are capped at $50,000 in a 12-month rolling window, as per the snippet from Microsoft’s documentation below:
